The Boulevard
Rizal Boulevard, more popularly known as "the Boulevard" sits above the waterline across the Dumaguete Harbor. It is a favorite destination of promenaders who wish to take in the fresh sea breeze, and health buffs who jog and walk along the sidewalk beneath the arching acacia trees. Sometimes, the early morning finds groups of boxers and martial artists practicing their moves and stances alongside Tai Chi practitioners who move and glide gracefully. At dusk one can find old friends enjoying the evening air with pleasant conversation to make a perfect ending to a good day. Lining the Boulevard are cafes, shops, hotels, restaurants, bars, discos, karaoke bars and internet cafes making it the ideal destination for dining, relaxation and entertainment.

I didn't spend much time on Rizal, mainly because I wanted to avoid the crowds and sink into the background. Besides, there were plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the silence and listen to the heartbeat of this "sleepy college town".
